The Maple Leafs are expected to have an interest in this Bruins star goalie.
The Boston Bruins are entering the summer with plenty of questions surrounding their roster. Their biggest is whether or not they will trade star goaltender Linus Ullmark.
The Bruins tried to move Ullmark before the deadline passed, but the star blocked the move because the rumored team was on his no-trade list. Now, after Jeremy Swayman cemented himself as the Bruins’ true No. 1 goalie during the playoffs, a Ullmark move seems even more likely.
When noting that Ullmark is a Vezina Trophy winner and a true star, there will be a ton of interest in him this offseason. The Fourth Period listed the Bruins’ biggest rival, the Toronto Maple Leafs, as a club that could look to add Ullmark.
The Maple Leafs are certainly in a position to add a goalie, as it is one of the weakest
Linus Ullmark & Jeremy Swayman parts of their roster right now. They also have three goalies with expired deals this summer: Ilya Samsonov, Martin Jones, and Matt Murray.
While the Maple Leafs could certainly express interest in a true No. 1 goalie like Ullmark, it would be shocking if the Bruins even considered doing business with them. The Bruins and Maple Leafs are in the same division, and it’s highly doubtful that Boston would help them by trading them a goalie of Ullmark’s talent.
