The Dallas Cowboys will face the Philadelphia Eagles in a pivotal NFC East divisional matchup this weekend, and Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is pumped for the clash.
“It’s the Cowboys versus Eagles. I don’t think you can say anything more than that.” McCarthy said, according to Patrik Walker of the Cowboys’ official team website. “We wanna get this 10th win.”
Dallas will enter Sunday’s game with a record of 9-3. It currently sits one game behind Philadelphia for first place in the division.
Both Dallas and Philadelphia are two of the best teams in the NFL and may very well be vying to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl this winter, so this matchup could ultimately determine which team wins the division and who ultimately has home-field advantage in the playoffs.
The Birds are aiming to win their second straight NFC East title. Last year, the Eagles went 14-3 and went all the way to the Super Bowl, where they ultimately lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. Philadelphia and Dallas split their regular-season meetings last year, with both clubs winning on their respective home fields.
Dallas has not made it past the Divisional Round since the 1995-96 season, when it last won the Super Bowl. Since then, the Cowboys have won a grand total of five playoff games.
Following their Week 14 battle with the Eagles, Dallas will take on the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders over its final four games of the season.
Obviously, the Cowboys do not exactly have a very easy schedule the rest of the way, so McCarthy’s club will have to be playing its best football over this next month.
