Jason Kelce gives hilarious take on Eagles’ recent signings including Saquon Barkley

Plenty of Philadelphia Eagles fans are amped up about the recent signing of Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley. However, one former Eagle star has mixed emotions about the signing.

Recently retired Philadelphia center Jason Kelce is elated about the addition of Barkley to the franchise. But the timing of the move led to some interesting internal dialogue for the former Eagles star. During a recent episode of his podcast New Heights with his co-star and brother Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, Jason discussed the signing of Barkley and hilariously revealed his feelings on the timing of it as well.

Jason Kelce gives hilarious take on Eagles’ recent signings including Saquon Barkley

Saquon Barkley signing with Philadelphia; how about this? Huge, huge signing for Philadelphia,” said Jason Kelce. “Social media has been non-stop saying, ‘Jason, are you sure you wanna retire?’ And I’m like, yeah, I’m pretty positive, even though I’m a little bit upset Howie waited till I retired to make a move like this. But, you know, it’s fine. It’ll work out great.”

“I could not be more bullish. We talked about it last week. This is what I’m regretting; I knew when I retired that I was going to miss just an outstanding season for the Philadelphia Eagles. And it sucks; it really does. I want to be a part of this so bad. I wish I could. But it doesn’t suck in the way that, hey, I’m a Philadelphian. I get to watch it and celebrate it just like everybody else. So I’m excited for them.”

Travis Kelce takes stock of the Eagles’ talent after adding Barkley
Jason’s brother Travis also chimed in on the move. But for the Kansas City superstar tight end, it’s not just Barkley, it is the talent that Philadelphia has at every single position; notably, all of their projected offensive starters have been selected to a Pro Bowl.

“The skill set in Philly; the skill positions in Philly… you have pro bowlers at every starter. Every starter on that Philly offense is a pro bowler; every single one of them,” said Travis Kelce.

With Barkley joining the likes of Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, Dallas Goedert, and Devonta Smith, the Eagles could be considered the best assortment of talent on the offensive side of the football. That could spell trouble for Kansas City, which is attempting to become the first-ever NFL franchise to win three straight Super Bowls.

Should the Chiefs meet the Eagles and next year’s championship game, a whole new set of mixed emotions for Jason Kelce, as he watched from the sideline this time as his home franchise and little brother battle for the crown of world champions.
