During the press conference, Prescott made it clear that he puts his team’s achievements before his individual accolades. Prescott said he is just focused on making sure that his team makes a deep postseason run.

That this team, we’re doing the right thing. We’re winning games, first and foremost. What I play for is at the end of the year, we’re one of the last teams and being the last team standing. Prescott said via The Athletic’s Jon Machota

However, the former Pro Bowl QB acknowledged that if his name is on the front for such a prestigious award, then he and his must be doing something right. He just wants to continue putting his team in the best position moving forward.

Obviously, if my name is in those talks then we’re putting ourselves in the right spot. For me, it’s about continue doing whatever I can to put this team in the best position. Get that guy the ball and just win games, and the rest will take care of itself. Prescott said

Most of their success can be credited to their signal-caller, who has exceeded everyone’s expectations in the ongoing season. Prescott has been playing lights out in 2023 after some struggles in the early stages. Now, he’s looking to close out this campaign by leading the Cowboys to a Super Bowl victory.
