The Sabres should consider making a push for this young Flyer.
Joel Farabee
The Buffalo Sabres are gearing up for a busy offseason. Adding a scoring winger is one of their top objectives, as their top six needs a boost. Because of this, one player who should immediately grab their attention is Philadelphia Flyers winger Joel Farabee.
Farabee, 24, is entering the summer as one of the NHL’s more notable trade candidates. While a move centering around the 2018 first-round pick is not guaranteed, there certainly has been some buzz over the prospect of him being dealt.
If Farabee is officially shopped by the Flyers, the Sabres should take a look at him. The five-year veteran set new career highs this season with 22 goals, 28 assists, and 50 points in 82 games. It was another solid year for him, but there’s an expectation that he has not hit his full potential yet. The chance of him becoming a 30-goal scorer is there.
If the Sabres landed Farabee, he would be a big-time addition to their top six and power play. In addition, he could find great success playing on a line with either Tage Thompson or Dylan Cozens as his center.
We will need to wait and see if the Sabres make a push for Farabee from here. Yet, given their need for help on the wing, he stands out as a solid potential option.
