The San Francisco 49ers’ Brock Purdy has had the NFL world in a chokehold since his debut season last year. All he has done in San Francisco is win football games. He began the 2023 season, leading the Niners to a 5-0 record before losing three games in a row. However, the second-year signal-caller has led the Niners to a four-game winning streak and has them just one game behind the NFC leaders, the Philadelphia Eagles.
In the Niners’ recent game against the Eagles, Purdy threw for 314 yards and 4 touchdowns while completing 19 of his 27 pass attempts. However, even after some terrific performances throughout the season, Purdy hasn’t gotten a lot of respect from the NFL pundits across networks, owing to his exposure to some talented offensive weapons.
Former NFL DE J. J. Watt recently acknowledged it and argued that Purdy should get more respect for what he is doing this season.
I do think that Brock Purdy doesn’t get enough credit. Joe Montana-Jerry Rice, Tom [Brady] had Randy Moss. Watt on The Pat McAfee Show
He further said:
You can’t punish a guy because he has incredible weapons. There’s zero denying that he has incredible weapons. The weapons around him are unbelievable but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s doing everything it takes for that football team.

Purdy so far this season has thrown for 3,185 yards, 23 touchdowns, and only 6 interceptions. He has a rating of 116.1 and has completed 70.2 percent of his passes. The QB has produced MVP caliber numbers this season, and it is high time the football world gives him his due respect.
Brock Purdy talks about the Niners’ dominant win over the Eagles on Sunday
The 49ers dismantled the Philadelphia Eagles in their home stadium and took revenge for their NFC Championship game loss last year. Purdy had yet another phenomenal game as he finished with 314 passing yards and 4 touchdowns. He talked about his mindset before entering the crucial game.
I didn’t want to get too caught up in this is the revenge tour or anything like that. I wanted to go in and execute for my boys, and obviously win the game. We have a bunch of crucial games coming up to finish out the season. That’s where I was at. If I got caught up in I need to get my revenge on these guys, I don’t think I would have been as focused and as detailed as I needed to be.

The Niners will play their next game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. They have a relatively easy schedule left to play and the Niners will hope to win as many games as possible and overtake the Eagles to grab the conference’s number one seed.
