Boston Bruins star goaltender Jeremy Swayman is the main reason the Original Six club is still alive this postseason. He has been sensational, while the Bruins’ offense has not given him much to work with.

This fact has not been ignored by head coach Jim Montgomery. While speaking to reporters, Montgomery had some big-time praise for Swayman.

“He’s been fantastic. Since Day 1 of the playoffs, he’s been incredible for us. Also, in between timeouts and behind the bench, he doesn’t talk to the bench, but the way he carries himself. There’s a confidence and an air about him that he’s invincible, which makes us very confident that we’re in a good place. The pulled goalie situation, I was behind the bench. I’m like, they’re not scoring. We have Swayman in the net.”

Montgomery also noted that Swayman “clearly has gone to the next level.” It is hard to disagree with that, as his play this postseason has been out of this world.

In 11 playoff games, Swayman has a 6-5 record, a 2.16 GAA, and a .933 SV%. He will now look to build on his remarkable play and keep the Bruins’ season alive in Game 6 on Friday night.
