The 28-year-old is coming off a strong 2023-24 season, posting 25 goals, 61 points, and a plus-27 rating in 82 games. He has also scored at least 20 goals in seven out of his nine NHL seasons.

The Sabres have the assets to bring in a player like Ehlers, as they have a deep prospect pool. However, with Ehlers entering a contract year, the Sabres would need to be okay with losing him during the 2025 NHL Offseason if he wants to test the market.
