Sabres Should Target Bruins Tough Guy

The Sabres should add to their bottom six and have a strong option in this Bruins forward.

The Boston Bruins’ season ended on Friday night, as they fell to the Florida Panthers by a 2-1 final score. With it, the Original Six club has some big decisions to make with their roster.

The Bruins have an abundance of pending UFAs heading into the offseason, and one of their most notable ones should grab the attention of the Buffalo Sabres – Pat Maroon.

Maroon, 36, may not be the most dominant offensive player, but he provides great value in other aspects. For starters, he would provide the Sabres with an immensely tough and hard-nosed forward for their fourth line. With the Sabres likely moving on from Zemgus Girgensons, they must add more grit to their lineup.

Maroon is also well-known for his marvelous leadership and being a great teammate. With the Sabres looking to take that next step and get back into the playoffs, a player with immense experience like Maroon should intrigue them. This is especially so when noting that Maroon has three Stanley Cups on his resume.

Maroon appeared in 51 regular-season games split between the Minnesota Wild and Bruins this season, posting four goals, 16 points, and 82 hits. He also added two helpers in 13 playoff games for Boston.
